Tyler Michael Frisby is pleased to announce the recent engagement of his parents Melissa May Kookesh and Charlie Patterson Frisby. The happy couple, who live in Juneau, are planning a 2010 fall wedding in Hawaii with friends and family.
Melissa is the granddaughter of Judith and the late Walter Woods of Manley Hot Springs and the late Matthew and Ramona Kookesh of Angoon. She is the eldest daughter of Floyd Kookesh and Lena Woods of Juneau. Melissa is a graduate of Angoon High School and is president of the Tlingit and Haida Central Council. Melissa enjoys spending her free time with their 2-year-old son, Tyler, as well as traveling and shopping.
Charlie is the grandson of Bernice and the late Algie Frisby of Hydaburg and the late Charlie and Exenia Fitka of Marshall. He is the son of Percy Frisby of Hydaburg and Rose Frisby of Marshall. Charlie is a graduate of Mount Edgecumbe High School and is a commercial fisherman. Charlie enjoys spending his free time hunting, fishing and gathering Native foods, as well as spending quality time with his family.
Wedding: Ambrose and Dark
Lisa Ambrose and Michael Dark were married on July 25 at the Intercultural Assembly of God church. A reception followed in the Gold Room of Westmark Hotel.
Lisa is the daughter of Wilma McEnulty of Anchorage and the late James Nollner of Galena.
Michael is the son of Regenia and Jerome Dark of Fairbanks.
Tariq Eskridge served as best man and Morgan VanHatten was maid of honor. Trenton Ambrose was the ring bearer, and the flower girls were Acelynn and Tia Patrick. Kevin McEnulty was the usher. The bride was given away by her brother, Derek Ambrose.
The couple will live in Fairbanks.
