The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Fireworks

A trio of downtown residents called police Saturday night to report hearing the sound of fireworks or gunfire from the east end of downtown south of the Chena River. Police officers contacted a man who was setting off fireworks and told him to take the fireworks outside the city.

Gunshots

Police took a report early Sunday morning from someone who said he or she heard gunshots near Front Street. Officers found no evidence of gunfire.

Theft

Someone stole an unidentified number of baseball bats from an Aurora subdivision road early Saturday afternoon, according to the Fairbanks Police Department. Officers took a report.
