JUNEAU -- Alaska's unemployment rate experienced a slight drop in June, down a tenth of a percent from the previous month.

Alaska's rate was 6.8 percent in June, when 25,325 Alaskans were out of work.

State labor economist Dan Robinson says the state added 1,500 jobs last month.

The main source of jobs was the oil and gas sector, but the construction industry saw a drop.

If the jobs paid decent wages I"m sure more people here would be working.
The state needs to stop giving so many hand outs to everyone and make them get jobs.
