Public Safety Report — Oct. 10

The Public Safety Report is compiled from criminal complaints filed in state and federal courts, as well as some police blotter information, trooper dispatches, fire department reports and interviews with public safety officials. Individuals named as arrested and/or charged with crimes in this report are presumed innocent until proved guilty in a court of law.

Assault

• Cheryl Harris, 28, of Fairbanks, was charged with fourth-degree assault after she allegedly punched her boyfriend in the eye Wednesday.

• A Kaltag man is accused of going “berserk,” and threatening his brother Wednesday.

Raymond Nickoli, Jr., 48, has been charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault and one count of criminal mischief.

Nickoli’s brother reportedly put a mattress against his door to keep Nickoli out. Nickoli also is accused of breaking his brother’s guitar.

When questioned by Alaska State Troopers, he blamed his brother for damage to the house, according to a criminal complaint filed in court.

DUI

Dwayne Anthony Mills, 44, of Fairbanks, was charged with driving under the influence after troopers stopped him for speeding late Wednesday night on University Avenue near College Road. A chemical test found his breath-alcohol content to be 0.081. The legal limit to operate a motor vehicle is 0.08.

Theft

• A computer was reported stolen Thursday from a Bridget Avenue home. There were no signs of forced entry, and a friend of a relative is suspected of being involved in the theft, according to Fairbanks police records.

• Two pistols and an iPod were reportedly stolen Thursday morning from a car parked on Wedgewood Drive. The car might have been unlocked at the time of the thefts.
