McCain says Palin remains strong force in the GOP
Published Sunday, October 11, 2009
WASHINGTON - Sen. John McCain says Sarah Palin remains a formidable force in the Republican Party despite widespread criticisms of his 2008 running mate.
McCain says he still has great affection for the former Alaska governor.
One of McCain's top advisers from his presidential campaign has said Palin would be a catastrophe for the GOP if she's the party's presidential nominee in 2012.
McCain says tensions are to be expected among campaign officials during and after a tough election.
The Arizona senator says he's happy to have good Republicans eying the 2012 presidential race and says "Sarah is one of them."
McCain spoke on CNN's "State of the Union."

For better or for worse....
Apparently not all Republicans agree with McCain......

Hilda -- that's why she is 'The Rogue'. Loosed from the herd and going her own way.
Oh ya, I can see her in the white house, and then she starts to pout again, picks up her toys and goes home...waaa waaa...
She is no Alaskan in my book
A strong Farce is more like it.
She's a perfect, self-absorbed demagogue and anyone who thinks otherwise is in for a "be careful what you wish for" moment.
By the time that election comes around, Obama will be running for savior of the universe and any Republican will begin to look good. Somehow I don't think Palin will be running 2012, she has her goal set on becoming an ever present persona and ex presidents are like old race horses that are put out to pasture and forgotten. She has a game plan and so far people have not been able to figure it out. Will be interesting to see what she says after the book release.
Knew this article would bring out the idiots of Alaska!!!!
Go Sarah!
Oh Yeah, OBAMA is still a pile of dog poop!!! Hope everything he does fails!
Oh, is he sucking up to try a VP run with her? He speaks out of both sides of his mouth these days also.
20012
My wife and I both support Sarah Palin for 2012
Didn't we just have this discussion?
Anyway McCain is just saying that she REMAINS a central figure in American politics. Maybe that will change and maybe it won't. She has done a good job of positioning herself as the antichrist for those of you who worship our curent leader. But more importantly she represents a focal point for people who fear Barry. Arguing about how lame Palin may or may not be is irrelevant at this point. Wait a year or two to see if this country is still floundering around. If Barry gets the new taxes and regulations that he wants this country will be in seious trouble. And then even I will have a shot at being president.
AlaskaO: "Oh Yeah, OBAMA is still a pile of dog poop!!! Hope everything he does fails!"
Really? You don't have to like the guy, but calling him dogsh1t and wishing failure on everything he does? You should be ashamed.
In part, I have to agree with Henry (I must be feverish?!).
I don't like Obama one bit, and the more he says and does, the more I dislike him.
But hoping he fails at everything he does, in some circumstances anyway, probably does not bode well for the future of our nation.
I don't like the way he's going about turning around our economy, I think it's going to do a significant amount of damage to the strength of our nation. That being said, I certainly don't want him to fail to turn our economy around or strengthen our nation.
As someone said earlier today, let's be careful what we wish for, because we might just get our wish as well as all of the ramifications that go with it.
The correct spelling is f-a-r-c-e, not f-o-r-c-e.
And by the way, the other correct spelling is, V-o-g-u-e, not R-o-g-u-e.
Wow, just yesterday on another thread I asked for more Palin news, and today the News-Miner delivers. This makes four times I've had that request answered within twenty-four hours.
When does this cease to be coincidence?
I surely hope for the sake of the Democratic Party that she remains a strong force in the Republican Party. I can think of no surer way for the GOP to lose than to follow her lead so that come election night, 2012, we will be treated once again to a bawling Palin standing on the dais with her unsuccessful partner in their attempt at the White House. The Chihuahua in Lipstick, her mascara running down her cheeks ala Tammy Faye.
Yeah, what he said. Sarah all the way in 2012, Dems would love to run against her, as she is unelectable.
Sara Palin for President? LOLOLOLOLOL... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!! She couldn't even finish her time as govenor. She got her 15 minutes of fame, now she just needs to disappear...
As far as President Obama failing... NOPE!!! I am curious though.. Why do people hate him so bad?
Oh and AlaskaO, sweetie go clean your backyard, the poop you smelling is on the bottom of your shoes...
GOP "going out poorly"
Unlike Dobieman...... I want to see great leaders running our country. I am not going by party lines. Sarah Palin is a great leader. She has made some mistakes and is able to get over them. Unlike the liberals who when they make a mistake.... they blame it on the conservatives. As far as her not being an Alaskan, she is but before she is an Alaskan, she is an American. Too bad some in Alaska don't have some common sense. Oh well..... maybe their brains were frozen?
Go Sarah in 2012!
I think her next act should be getting the the photo shoot with Levi...
lol all the palin haters just can't stand it.
Palin is going to destroy obama in 2012.
bank on it.
As much as I disagree with what President Obama is doing, Sarah Palin is unelectable.
Republicans are for killing and against healing.
Here's a more complete version of what McCain said:
"Will Sarah and I -- did we always agree on everything in the past? Will we in the future? No. But look let's let a thousand flowers bloom. Let's come up with a winning combination the next time. We -- and -- and let's -- let's all go through the process, rather than condemning anybody's chances. And I'm happy to say we have some great people out there, and Sarah is one of them."
Someone pointed out the following (certainly I didn't know this - & the person who pointed it out didn't think too highly of it):
"McCain said he wanted to 'let a thousand flowers bloom' next election cycle....the exact quote is 'let a thousand flowers bloom, let a thousand schools of thought contend.' This was the slogan for the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution led by Mao Tse-tung..."
There you go, folks. Go crazy!
so autumnimprov, what do you think. was mccain reaching out to the democrats by paraphrasing mao. everyone comes up with a gem once in a while. my favorite commie quote was che's. "political power comes from the barrell of a gun." truer words were never spoken, especially as practiced by mao.
I'm not psychic, but my guess is that he really doesn't like Palin. Stress on the 'really.'
my guess is that he does like palin, but they are worlds apart politicaly. but, regardless, palin is on the stage and will be in the face of the left for a long time. if she ever does seek the presidency, i doubt that it will be as a republican.
Strong in the force she may be, but not that strong...
Twilight is upon her career, and soon- night must fall.
jimp: "Republicans are for killing and against healing."
...................................
LOL. You can change Republicans to Democrats and still tell the truth and nothing but the truth.
"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
Without looking forward to an extremity of this kind (which nevertheless ought not to be entirely out of sight), the common and continual mischiefs of the spirit of party are sufficient to make it the interest and duty of a wise people to discourage and restrain it.
It serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another.
There is an opinion that parties in free countries are useful checks upon the administration of the government and serve to keep alive the spirit of liberty. This within certain limits is probably true; and in governments of a monarchical cast, patriotism may look with indulgence, if not with favor, upon the spirit of party. But in those of the popular character, in governments purely elective, it is a spirit not to be encouraged. From their natural tendency, it is certain there will always be enough of that spirit for every salutary purpose. And there being constant danger of excess, the effort ought to be by force of public opinion, to mitigate and assuage it. A fire not to be quenched, it demands a uniform vigilance to prevent its bursting into a flame, lest, instead of warming, it should consume."
George Washington, Farewell Address, 1796
the balls in obamas court as far as the next presidential election is concerned. if he stops campaigning and starts producing he could, likely, look forward to a second term. if he can't get it together, at least he will have a healthy retirement pension to look forward to. on the other side, if the republicans can't get it together, they will, probably be displaced by a strong third party challenge. if that happens, obama could survive and capture a second term. do i think that palin will be a candidate? probably not, but she will play a role.
so what?
who cares?
Sarah who?
Liberals attack Palin because they FEAR her. They know that with Palin, they seriously have some competition. Although, I feel bad for democrats in 2012 if Palin runs -- they wont even have a chance.
In a word, "Bwaaaahahahahahahhaahhahahahahahah!"
jmailman, are you serious? You could not really believe that she is electable, or could you? Holy Cow!! Al Franken, Louis Farakahn, Charles Manson all have better chances than does Sarah Palin. Forever forward she will pretty much be known as a quitter when the pressure gets tough, and her political future is so over. And to think, I once supported her with all my might....only to realize she was duping us all.
How patronizing of him. The biggest mistake Gov Palin made was to get involved with this loser.
ArcticWriter
so what?
who cares?
Sarah who? My wife and I think you care.
Let her run on the GOP party, Libertarian Party, AIP party or any of the other minor tickets... she's said too many scary things and done too many nutbag things to ever be accepted by the mass moderates.
Its too bad there's no legal bookies in town, would be interesting to place bets on sarah in 2012!
http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/6740/...
Yukonjohn: I think you just named the Republican dream ticket:
Farrakhan/Manson 2012!
http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/sarah...
TAC, you moderates are just afraid of the uncorruptable charisma and ethicalness of the Farrakhan / Manson ticket! That's why you insult them so viciously!
Country in the wrong direction, what is the right direction? Spending a Trillion so far in Iraq? Who's screaming about that? Halliburton and Blackwater and their subsidiaries? Who got us into this mess? We've lost the battle in Afghanistan but Ms former beauty pageant, bailed on Alaska Gov, in it for the money honey failin'Palin says spend baby spend more and send baby send more troops! Send her son that just returned? Betcha NOT! she'd say. Gimmeabreak...McCain embarrassed himself, as well as the Republican Party, he's just trying to save face.
I always cruise the Palin articles to read the bottom feeder lib lines.
It's simple. The Liberals of today are the great-great grandsons and daughters of the Tories---you know, the colonists who were loyal to King George during the Revolution? They are still looking for a King to take their money and tell them what to do and how to do it, still yearning for someone to place on a pedestal and adore, like a human replacement for God in their lives.
Just listen to them rave on about King Obama and know who they are.
The fact that Palin is a force in the republican party shows just marginalized they have become.
nellydurrance, I beg to differ with you. In MY particular case, I am a descendent of Stephan Hopkins of the Mayflower. He was a Planter, hired to go to the new world by London merchants. He was not loyal to the king, he was even a rabblerouser to a degree even amongst the pilgrims. You, am many other right wingers, group people together and place your titles on them and by God, that is what they are!! Well, I am a conservative that thinks Sarah, Sean H., Mush Lamebrain, and those that follow them are "out to lunch".
Hey, Shusheela305---Who PROMISED to get us OUT of both Iraq and Afghanistan and HASN'T? Who PROMISED to end the Patriot Act and WHO extended it instead? WHO has kept the creepy surveillance-without-a-cause networks in place? And KEPT the equally creepy special authorities for himself? WHO made "detention" into "permanent detention"? Well, here's a hint, it WASN'T BUSH!!! It was and is Obama.
And while you're at it, suppose you tell me why he has spent over $2 million to suppress release of his birth certificate? Two million and you say there's nothing wrong? Right.
Like most Americans, I gave Obama a chance. And then there were the bailouts and the stimulus and GM and health care reform. I stopped giving him a chance the day he suggested that our soldiers pay for their own wounds and health care because they "volunteered"? Would you rather pay the going rate for professional mercenaries, Mr. Obama? Then they could afford to pay for top notch care and insurance for their families instead of a standard issue coffin and a flag.
The guy is either evil or incompetent and either way, there's something really, really wrong with him. If it were a choice between him and Sarah Palin, I'd probably jump off a bridge, so I am personally hoping it never comes to that. But in the meantime, don't even throw any liberal stones, because they are coming right back at you.
sushe, you win the daily prize for the best use of liberal logic for this sentence......
"We've lost the battle in Afghanistan but Ms former beauty pageant, bailed on Alaska Gov, in it for the money honey failin'Palin says spend baby spend more and send baby send more troops!"
And to top that off with this gem......
"Send her son that just returned? Betcha NOT! she'd say."
Brilliant. You will probably win the weekly prize too.
The intellectual "descendants" of the Tories have no necessary biological lineage to Tories of the past. It is a mentality, a "meme" instead of a "gene" thing, wherein the liberal assumptions of today follow the monarchist assumptions of former times. It used to be the royals and the commoners and now, for them, it's the haves and the have nots. In either case, they look for a greater external and temporal authority (rather than God) to rule over their lives---a king, a dictator, a Fuehrer---and they conceive of classes of people, instead of individuals. The twisted part is that liberals and statists often take Christian concepts of sharing and humility and charity and use those human virtues to undermine those who display them, shamelessly encouraging others to give up their money and their time in the service of the "king"---the government. Make no mistake that these lines of thought and those who consciously or unconsciously espouse them are dangerous to civil liberty of all kinds and are, by their very nature, irresponsible and immoral.
I like Sarah but i don't think she would make a good president, yet. Obama is a definite idiot though, didnt like him then still dont like him and never will.
You know its funny...
I can't get over how many conservatives/libertarians/right-wingers on here refer to the president as their King, Messiah, Lord or other form of worship. You'd think they had some sort of inferiority complex? O_o
They are referring to the way Liberal/Statists relate to political leaders. Conservatives for the most part have God in their lives and don't mistake men for God---a common mistake of the humanist ego one finds among Statists. They believe that Man is the be all and end all, and wind up worshipping other people---politicians, celebrities, football stars, whatever. This is why I know NO conservatives who kept photos of George W. Bush or had Bush coffee cups or Bush statues riding on the dash boards of their cars, but I know all sorts of liberal statists who have Obama's picture hanging in their living rooms, Obama campaign buttons still on their coats, Obama sayings on their memo boards, posters of Obama, Obama lunch boxes, Obama coffee cups, and yes, little plastic Obama statues---just like the old plastic Jesus statues---riding on the dashboards of their cars. Myself? I am thinking of buying some Obama toilet paper, a 100 different photos of His O -ness, 1000 sheets per roll, for $6.95. It's spendy for t.p. but there are days when I think it would be well worth it....
I know Sean Hannity has that affliction. He always refers to President Obama as The Annointed One. I would call that some form of worship. Of course, we all know he is an idiot.
So you think Liberals and Statists (is that even a word? come on now) don't have god in their life in one form or another? I have yet to come across anyone who proclaimed themselves to be Liberal or Moderate think of the President in those terms. Seems only the Conservative think of him that way?
I see plenty of worship photos of Bush Sr. Ronald Regan and Sarah Palin in offices about town, I have yet to see one office with a picture of Carter, Clinton or Obama on the wall. Maybe it's the places I frequent, IDK... but the most I have seen regarding Obama is election related. I still see Kerry 2004 and Bush/Cheney stickers on cars, so I don't think it qualifies as a form of hero-worship.
I'm sorry but the only ones I have seen worshiping politicians has been the "Right-wingers", particularly so with our ex-governor. It creeps me out just as much as it would if I heard anyone praising the president as "The Anointed One", "Messiah" or any of the other deification's you guys use.
It really bugs me. Politicians are not idols, even Wilson, Kennedy and Regan should not be made idols of. Every bit of hero worship I have heard (and I don't just mean the titles) has come from the Right-wing, and they already have a reputation for being fanatically religious.
When the hell is Hef gonna get her to do a pictoral? Heck Levi is 2 steps ahead of her. He did Playgirl and now is in commercials,,,Damn Sarah get withit,,take it off!!!
Palin 2012 / Mayan Prophecy
AlaskaO, there is something wrong with you. You hope Obama fails. Then you are wishing this country to fail. Are you thinking back to the good old days when Bush was in office? He sure did wonders for this counry. He was so well like that he left office with a 22 percent approval rating. As for Palin, she has as much of a chance at the white house as I do.
Republicans never questioned the cost of both wars and attacked the Democrats who did as being unpatriotic and against the troops. Now the Republicans question the cost of health care. That makes them for killing and not for healing . They are being unpatriotic and against the American people. More people die every year,in the range of 45,000, because they don't have health insurance. That's a lot more than in both wars. That again makes them for killing and not healing. They had 8 years of total control to fix the health care insurance problem and reform health care. It doesn't matter who they run to many many Americans.
McCain's concervative credibility is lacking when discussing Sarah.
We concervatives know that Sarah is the right pick, because she is hated by the left so much. And if she doesn't run,..then someone like her. The next presidential election will be a cake walk for concervatives, because of the mess this president has got us into,..mmm mmm mmm.
jimp -- by your reckoning, when it comes to war, the repubs were right in indicting libs & donks with treason, unpatriotism, and un-Americanism.
Your memory is short. The donks took over congress in 2006. Bush had only veto power, thereafter. Yet, the donks funded the war (including Obama) on every vote. No conviction there, eh?
Sarah Palins words..."It is as throughout Alaska that big wild good life teeming along the road that is north to the future."
Run for prez and split the party! YES!!
The dems gave Bush the right to make the decision...do we get any consideration for this now..no way. Clinton didn't either and he leaned to the right many times during his administration...any reasonable fair people on the right? NEVER!!!
TAC..no coincidence here, the editor of the newsminer is a republican. That's why we have such lame stories about her like, writing her book and calling her father to fill in the gaps. Not even a story, just paper filler. Did we need to know on the front page that she calls her dad to find out little tidbits of her life, like how ;many points she scored in a basketball game when she was a kid...,news?? Oh Pleezzeee!!
AlaskaO- your IQ is showing right after the word Alaska
Sarah won't make it another year she's finished! Being "Rogue" doesn't equate to smart or competent.
tugboat - is named the S.S. Minnow
I go "Rogue" in my undies every time I think of Sarah as president! Would she be the ultimate "Nanny" or what? I'll forever be grateful for the extra $1200 she gave all us Alaskans last year...Now that's real conservatism.
The Mayan "2012 prophecy" is more believable than the "Obama=illegal alien" conspiracy theory. Sarah's F-ed if you believe either way.
The Palin worshipers, who call themselves "Christian", should look up what the bible says about "false idols" and calm down a little bit.
tugboat - Can't even spell his own parties name.
(Joe Six Pack didn't gradgetate.)
BigRob 10/12/2009, 8:03 a.m. "The dems gave Bush the right to make the decision...do we get any consideration for this now..no way. Clinton didn't either and he leaned to the right many times during his administration...any reasonable fair people on the right? NEVER!!!"
...................................
Why? You libs are just afraid you'll be voted out if you all have it your way. You libs wait till conservatives agree with you so you can blame it on the other side as well. You libs won this election by blaming Bush, without any specific ideas except to bail this country out. Proof? Obama has no idea what he's going to do on health care, on the war, economy, abortion, so he's just going to take it allover with the Government. Bush created this mess by having the biggest government in the history, and all you libs have to solve is making the government even bigger.
The liberals do fear Sarah. But, she scares the Hell out of the conservatives.
I understand Sarah has already made it a rule of the Republican Party that when someone new joins, the members gather around him or her and chant, "Gooble-gobble, gooble-gobble...one of us! One of us!"
Sarah Palin
My wife and I "absolutely" support Saraha Palin for 2012
Sarah Palin 2012
leftorright,
There is one thing I will say I do like about President Obama, and that is that he knows what the office of the president is actually supposed to do. You say he "has no idea what he's going to do on..." but in reality, issues such as the healthcare debate are NOT dictated to congress by the president! Believe it or not, Congress are the ones who are supposed to come up with things. A president can support an issue, ask congress to come up with something and basically try to put his political omph behind it, but he (or she) is not supposed to hand out legislation to his party to pass, or issue presidential decrees creating law (like we've had some trouble with before). The man is doing exactly what presidents are supposed to do, and furthermore he is actually working hard at things (rather than vacationing in Crawford 2/3rds of the time). At most a president can sit with congress and try to suggest things, but it's not really the intent behind the office... except in maybe working on the yearly budget I think.
You may not agree with his ideology or what he supports, has signed into law, etc... but you have to admit he is doing the job correctly.
Wow! Comments from 3 members of BigRob's family in one morning.
Isanova
My wife and I believe your Obama will fizzle out with a fiasco:failure and his hatered towards the U.S.A.
Isanova, I agree he's doing the job correctly. Ain't breaking any rules and all. I voted for him, mainly cause I wanted the republicans to wake up cause their ideology is to have small government, yet these last 8 years they couldn't control spending. Obama has great ideas and I wish most of his ideas could easily be passed, but money doesn't grow out of the trees. OK, do you really want him to pass everyone of his ideas? Ouch. Were looking at $15-16 trillion dollar debt by 2012, way more than white house is predicting.
Sarah Palin
My wife and I "absolutely" support Saraha Palin for 2012
---------------------------
My wife and I ALSO support Saraha Palin!
PALIN 2012!!!!!!
YukonJohn: Yes! I support Palin. But its just my opinion. If you don't like her, it is your right as an American to voice your opinion agaisnt her. But those like me, WE LOVE HER! Nothing you or anyone else says will EVER change my mind.
PALIN IN 2012!
And Jmailman, that is absolutely your right as an Alaskan and an American. I was in that same place during her first 18 months in office, but then I saw how she was duping us, and how she was not really who she had first appeared to be. The more time has passed, the more convinced I have become that she is a fraud and, not only was she bad for Alaska, but would be horrible as a national leader. Fortunately, she has shown her colors for all to see, and thus, I think she is probably one of the most unelectable persons that would ever aspire to a national office.
Oh_please
My wife and I support real people.
What does that mean?
Yukonjohn: I should correct you...... I am not an Alaskan, I live in Pennsylvania but I keep up with Alaskan politics because I love your state. It truly is the last frontier. However, I totally disagree with your views but thats the sweet thing about America, we are all entitled to our own views. I believe Palin is a great leader who was not given a chance because of the liberals. The liberals destroyed her. As far as the lefts arguement that she is a quitter, I totally disagree..... I honestly think she made a wise decision. She stepped down because she was unable to fulfil her job because of the lawsuits against her. Plus, the debt her family was gathering was most likly anther reason. Any good provider would want to provide the best for their family. As far as I concerned, I say Palin in 2012!
No the point is now listen close The Republicans ran out and called them anti American and against the troops. Now the Republicans are against funding for health care so The Republicans are being anti American and against the American people. Whats so hard to understand there ?
Oh_please
Oh please wait!let me ask the wife.
Oh sorry my bad so they only had control for just 6 years and a few months. What a real mess they made heck I thought it took them longer to mess things up. Good thing things are getting better.
Oh_please
My wife and I says,She's genuine and downright human being.
Is that real enough for you?
jimp..... you're a fool..... but its just my opinion. I don't see things getting better at all. I think things are getting worst. And I think the millions of people losing their jobs would agree. Just wondering? What planet are you from?
Bush was pres for 6 years and 7 months before the economy collapsed. The liberals controlled congress for 7 months before the economy collapsed. Liberal logic dictates that it was all Bushes fault. Simple logic forces me to ask what the lag time for economic policies at that level are. What do you think they are jimp?
My wife and I says,She's genuine and downright human being.
Is that real enough for you?

mr_one_time:
My wife and I are with ya on that one!
When my wife and I had cancer surgery we went to the Mayo Clinic in Minneapolis but the doctors all seemed like aloof elitist know-it-alls what with their liberal educations and book learnin' and all. Not like us at all! So we came home and went to the doctors here in Fairbanks who seemed more genuine and human. We still have the cancer but feel smugly self satisfied knowing that we didn't go with the elitist eggheads back east!
All you Alaskans that got sucked into the liberal media's bashing of our former governor need to get some brains. Honestly there was no good criticism of Palin, they just harassed her family because she was so clean. Better her in office than Obama. She stood up for this state. The first good person to come around in a while looking to help bring us all forward we eye with suspicion and dislike. Please someone post all the bad things she did for the state and how she ruined us. And all you "Republicans" that decry her too, why don't you jump ship. You sound more like a Democrat anyways at least stop pretending and being in denial. She's clean and stands up for what she believes in. I think she's the only one right now that can take the GOP back to conservatism so start using your gray matter instead of the regurgitating what all your leftist friends are saying.
WOW Arcticman! WOW! I could not have said it any better! Great Job!
I envy the belief of how the naive girl from Alaska is the last bastion of hope to revive conservatism in American Politics.
sry that dog don't hunt...
McCain is no force nor is Palin..
I'm afraid we still have a few more future elections to suffer through before anyone rises from the ash and trash to assist us getting back on course.
Don't you guys pay them Palin haters no mind! Hopefully she'll be able to bring her special Alaskan magic to the national stage! Just remember the good old days!

Intrigued by what "rogue" actually means, I consulted the Oxford English Dictionary. Here are the definitions (http://dictionary.oed.com/cgi/entry/5020...) :
1) One belonging to a class of idle vagrants or vagabonds.
2) A dishonest, unprincipled person.
3) One who is of a mischievous disposition.
4) An inferior plant among seedlings.
5a) An elephant driven away, or living apart, from the herd, and of a savage or destructive disposition.
5b) Any large wild animal of a similar character.
6) A horse which is inclined to shirk its work on the race-course or in the hunting field.
7a) An inexplicably aberrant result or phenomenon.
7b) Something that is inexplicably faulty or defective.
7c) That which lacks appropriate control; something which is irresponsible or undisciplined.

Oh, I know what a dividend is, roadie.
My wife and I absolutely support Britney Spears in 2012.
Whoops! Freudian slip. I meant Sarah Palin. I have no idea what made me think of Britney Spears.
For the Sarah Haters
There was once was a Sarah named Palin
who found her polytiks failin'
with a wink and a look
and a ghostwritten book
she got rich from a tome about bailin'
For the Sarah Lovers
There was once was a Sarah named Palin
who got sick of the liberals railin'
with a plan in her hand
and support from her man
she showed how the US could quit failing
Funny Fairbanksans
My wife and I think you people of Fairbanks are just "Hilarious and Boisterously funny"
RabbleRabble,
Your comment was remarkable!! My girlfriend (who is more liberal than I) says you should get it to Keith Oberman on MSNBC. She says she bets he would use it on his show! It really was good....and SO ACCURATE!!
mr_one_time: '20012'
20012? Now that's immortalizing her and just as whacked as that painting of Jesus handing the Constitution to the Founding Fathers like it was the tablets with the 15 <fumble drop shatter> uh 10 commandments.
Where once there were erudite spokesmen for conservatism (or is that concervatism?) like William Buckley, now the best the constipatatives can do is Sararah?
I promise I'll pick on the gliberals later - equal time.
RickHoeberg
My wife and I don't get your drift?
mr_uno_tempus: 'My wife and I think you people of Fairbanks are just "Hilarious and Boisterously funny"
My wife and I. My Wife & I.
Do you and your wife ever have separate thoughts or is there an uninterruptable interneural connection like the Borg?
Or does 2 just sound more persuasive than one? Sort of compensating for lack of any defensible axioms, logical structuring or other silly little details required to mount a viable point of view beyond the infantile cultural fixation with the so called sanctity of an uninformed opinion?
and what's with this 'you people' business?
mr_one_time: I apologize. There was no drift, more a purposeful slap out of frustration with such enthusiastic support based on so little display of knowledge to support the position. I reacted badly & I apologize.
Tell us - on what basis do you find yourself willing to so enthusiastically the potential candidacy of Sarah Palin for high office?
Rick: perhaps mr_one_time and his wife dwell in the quaint little community of Stepford, Connecticut.
I have decided to be a liberal.
Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is dumb. Palin is DUMB. PALIN IS DUMB. PALIN IS DUMB!! PAAAALIN IS FREAKIN DUUUUUUUUUUUUMB!!!! OH YEAH, I'M FEELIN IT!!!!
Bush sucks too.
roadtrip: You should join us centrists. Then you can hate all politicians. It's a lot easier that way. You don't need a scorecard.
What an entertaining thread tonight. This is not as entertaining as seeing Sarah trying to get elected to anything in the future, other than dogcatcher, (and that would have to be out of Alaska) but it sure has kept a smile on my face.
McCain just can't admit he made a mistake. Watch for his posthumous memoirs to dismiss every nice thing he's ever said about Palin.
Corporate greed has turned us all into robots for the rich. The rich work us for their own needs and then discard us when we become unproductive. Well, no more. It is time for us to take back the money they have stolen.
Now the fat cat, good old boys are squirming now under President Obama, and that is good. But it is only a good start. We need free universal health care for all. For to long the rich have enjoyed the benefits of us working for them. Now they will work for us. If they don't like it, to bad.
We need to stop the literal striping of this planet's resources so a select few can live in luxury. We need to stop acting like the earth and everything on it belongs to us, it does not. We pump oil out of the earth to turn to fuel so our jets can drop bombs on it. We turn that oil into pollution that is killing us and we kill everyone who stands in between us and that oil. We are worse then crack addicts when it comes to that stuff.
Obama, god bless him, is doing his best to set things right after what Bush and Cheney did to us. Idiots like Palin and her supporters can't see beyond there own small little lives. Obama is working for us, and I still believe in him!
Whatever her vices or virtues, Sarah Palin has put herself in an unlikely position to ever pursue higher office than the one she vacated. I think all this speculation about her "future" is unwarranted. She'll be a gadfly and stomp around in support of conservative causes, and maybe over the next ten to fifteen years she will grow up enough to hold a responsible position. Until then....this is much ado about nothing. There's no way she could capture the Republican nomination for either President or Vice-President as a voluntarily unseated Governor.
Sarah Palin 2012
My wife and I would like to know,Obama or Sarah for 2012?
roadtrip
My wife and I wonder what kind of a road you drive on and what are you tripping on? Obama is putting us all on a rocky road, take your blinders off when driving.
It is less than amazing that most of you can only see either Obama or Palin as president in 2012. Too bad the political parties prevent us from ever having a real leader anymore.
Must be strong, must stay focused,
Anti-Virus Warning: Threat level: Moderate annoyance.
The "Stepford" virus originating in Germany (codename 'Herr Einzeit') is an antique 8-bit microcontroller on a 10 minute loop hardwired into a transatlantic optic link. It can only transmit data packets limited to 64 bytes with half of that used by the headers "My Wife and I" and "Palin 2012".
Half, let alone full duplex communication is not enabled. Simple viral political boosterism is simulated by cutting and pasting usernames within the remaining free memory to emulate a sub-Turing test AI.

Ronald Reagan put this country on it's present war footing.
I think I can do this.
Sarah! Sarah! Sarah! Sarah! Sarah Palin in 2012! Sorry Obama, but you will be voted out along with all your liberal punks.
I think the Mayans got it right.
Roadtrip, you did bring a smile to my face this morning! LOL Hope you are having a good one.

My dog and I think mr_one_time should change his/her username to

Instead of making some strong black coffee this morning I now have to go and buy a double latte with skim milk and hazelnut. Yum.
Well, it's off to work for the man.
And I can't believe Obama caved to his critics and increased the troop count in Afghanistan. I thought we won the last election?
At least he ended the recession.
Sarah Palin 2012
My wife and I are real proud Americans.
I think Todd Palin posts here as mr_one_time.
TAC
I thought it was DPinAK (David) who has been reincarnated, yet again!
WatchinU: If he was DP-Dave, he'd make some smug comment.
Then he'd immediately follow it up with another one.
You liberals are funny. I will tell ya. The world would be a very dull place with out you liberals. Your all too much entertainment. Go Sarah Palin in 2012! Its time to kick some liberal butts!
Then he's find some passive-aggressive way of accusing you of something you never said or did.
Then he'd ask you why you were trying to take away his free speech rights.
Then he'd post another smug comment.
Then he'd claim he wasn't going to comment on this one anymore.
Then he'd post again.
The_Alaska_Curmudgeon
My wife and I think you're just hilarious.
Oh, and I forgot one other thing: he'd also say "God bless."
TAC
DLP gave that up when he returned from overseas. He forgot that phrase at the same time he "forgot" his username and started posting under a new one. Since DPinAK hasn't posted since Sept. 25 th, I suspect he has been re-incarnated again. Or maybe HE just was not "God-blessed".
Sarah Palin 2012
My wife and I pray a lot for Sarah Palin
Sarah Palin Rules! And president Obama drools!
The_Alaska_Curmudgeon
My wife and I would like you to stop the B.S.and get serious for support for Sarah Palin 2012
mr_one_time: Great to see anther Palin supporter! I love that woman. She would make a great leader. Sarah Palin in 2012!
jmailman1999
My wife and I also love Sarah Palin and wish her well for 2012 vs obama
mr_one_time
WOW! I can't believe your wife lets you post "B.S."
My dog and I would love to see you wise up and stop posting such immature gibberish but I guess that will happen when you convince "me and my dog" to support Palin in anything. NOT!!!
Jmailman I won't say what I think you but I have read your writings. Lets just say I am not impressed. If you know anything about recessions the last phase of recovery is job sector. Don't worry the unemployment rate will come down.
What Id really like to know is what did Sarah Palin ever do that was so great ? Even if she ran and won she would just quit half way through her first term.
Hilda
My wife and I train dogs, can we help you?

Thanks, but no thanks.
My dogs are very well trained! They all exhibit much better sense than you, as well.

Palin is dumb, dumb, dumb.
And the recession is over. I heard it on the news. People are spending again.,People have to spend, it is inevitable. If you want something you have to buy it and that takes money. The stimulus created almost a trillion dollars and it is going to be spent. I know that this is a complicated issue so I hope that I haven't confused those of you that are unfamiliar with how the economy works, but trust me, the recession is over.
mr_one_time: My wife says of I quit posting B.S. I wouldn't have anything left to say.
Oh, and I have a BA, not a BS.
Jimp..... my liberal friend..... you may not like sarah....... but millions do (including myself.) I have conserative roots just like her. She is the exact leader that America needs right now. Heck with Bush, Obama, McCain, Clintons and all the other horrible leaders. Sarah is a fresh face with the desire to lead. She is anti abortion, pro guns and anti gay marriage. All very good traints to have in a leader. She is not for National Healthcare like Obama. She lowered Alaskas debt and put more money into the states rainy day account. Now even liberals admitted she did do that. Plus, she has pre sold millions of books. If she was really a bad leader, why would people spend their hard earned dollars on a book from a worthless leader? As far as the economy..... banks are only making profits because we bailed them out. People are continuing to lose their jobs. More foreclosures are accuring because of this and that will hurt the banks even more. Plus talks about national healthcare? Higher taxes on businesses and insurance companies? Do you honestly believe these are the ways to fix our economy? To screw over the average joe? If you do, your such a fool and extremely ignorant as well. I would never wish any of that upon my friends and family, not even you my liberal friend!
Roadtrip...... THE RECESSION IS NOT OVER! But the liberal media would want you to believe such a thing.
Roadtrip knows jmailman!! He might be a damn liberal, but he sure knows when a little recession is over!
Ok, enough of that. Jmailman, when Sarah ran for governor of our Great State, she ran on the platform of taking on the big guy, the big corps. She did that. Did a damn fine job of it. She had also told us of how she believed in God and was anti-abortion, but that she was but one voice in Alaska. She was a "live and let live" Alaskan....much as we all are. We are by majority very conservative, but VERY open to others and their opinions and beliefs. So, Sarah goes along for the first 18 months of her term...fighting for REGULAR Alaskans...her fellow Alaskans. Along comes John McCain. A man that I respect over many, many other Americans. A man I hold dear along with any other vet that has been a POW. My eyes tear up when I think of the atrocities that they endured to serve their Nation with pride. God Bless each and every one of them!! He chose her to be his number 2 in the Presidential race. All of a sudden, everything changed. She immediately took the line of Sean Hannity and Rush Lamebrain and allowed herself to be protrayed as the savior of the religious right. This is not the person we elected. She lost every bit of my support, and more importantly she lost my respect as a fellow Alaskan. I hope this explains my view of what happened and I think it is a view shared by many fellow Alaskans.
No B.S.My wife and I say so.
The Arizona senator says he's happy to have good republicans eying the 2012 presidential race and says "Sarah is one of them"
I said that I respect him to the high heavens, but he is not a very astute politician. (re: the 2008 US Presidential election)
I guess you and your wife will just wait until 2012 to see that Sarah Palin could not get elected as a dog catcher in Crackville, USA!
Jailman, Sarah lowered Alaska's debt? I think it had a little to do with the price of a barrel of oil during the first half of her half term.
My wife and I agree with you, Yukon. My wife and I would also like to point out that, in the opinion of my wife and I, the only elected office that Sarah Palin could win or is qualified for is vice president of the Sarah Palin is Awesome Committee. My wife and I further believe that Jmailman1999 should the the President and Chair of this committee.
Also, my wife and I think that the opinions of both my wife and I are viewed with more weight and respect, at least by my wife and I.
Sincerely,
My wife and I.
Buddy, your wife and you have my total respect!! Ny wife and I both respect you and your wife!!
My wife and I are going to bed.
truthinnews 10/13/2009, 9:38 p.m. Jailman, Sarah lowered Alaska's debt? I think it had a little to do with the price of a barrel of oil during the first half of her half term.
............................................
Three words: Cut Wasteful Spending. Tell Obama and Bush that.
Yukonjohn: At least you will give her the credit she deserves. There are plenty on here that state she NEVER did anything good. If you no longer like her, thats just your view. Personally, I don't think the media treated her right. The left wing media was constantly attacking her and her family. Did they do the same to Obama or Biden? Nah.... I don't think so. I think Sarah Palin has a great possibility of being president of the US. And I look forward to that.
Truthinnews: Yeah.... that helped. But alot of former Alaskan politicians would have found other means to waste that money. Palin paid off the debt. Rather you like this woman or not, give her the credit she rightfully deserves.
Henry: Ha Ha Ha. Hope you don't dislike Sarah Palin too much because starting January 2013, she will be our new president!
Kwigster05: I totally agree with you. That is what Sarah Palin did. She paid off the debt by cutting wasteful spending. Wish I would have worded it like that.
Dream on Jmailman. There are a lot of stupid people in this country, but not that many.
Jmailman1999, you say you are interested in Alaska, but the only articles you comment on are about Palin. Haven't you heard that she quit?
Sarah who?
Jmailman, you keep mentioning the debt. Best of my recollection, Alaska does not have a debt, nor did we. We have not had a debt for several years now. We do run short from time to time and have to dip into the CBR, but borrow, I believe you had better check your sources. That is something about ya'll getting involved into our politics. Its perfectly fine that you comment on here, and that you like Sarah, but you just don't "live" our life. We are different here, just as Californians are different from almost everyone, we are different also. You should probably keep that in mind when you comment on here.
Waiting for John McCain's book to come out or Cindy's or Meghan McCain, someone's gonna spill the beans on Palin and her antics, personally I think shes got quite a bit missing upstairs, she doesn't have normal thinking she's twisted and demonic.
Yukonjohn..... I just go by the stories I have seen posted on the newsminer for years. Thats all. I come in peace. Don't mean to offend you or anyone else. I just am tired of everyone attacking Palin constantly. What I like about her most is she fits right in with the rest of us ordinary people. Most politicians think they are above us while Palin just fits right in with us. Thats the kind of president we need. The Clinton administration, Bush administration and now Obama administration think us Americans are too stupid to understand anything. As far as debt goes, I would say you should not. Your senators get a LARGE sum of pork barrel spending money than almost any other state. There again..... I am just going by what the newsminer, a respected newspaper, has reported over periods of years.
oh..... yukonjohn..... please explain how you say you never had a debt to your best of knowledge while also saying you have not had a debt for several years. That statement sounds kind of twisted if you ask me. Can't have it both ways.
1958, If you look at a picture of her head you can actually see the scar from a lobotomy.

Both names have been dragged through the mud in ways that cannot be repaired, I'd vote for them, but my vote didn't change the last election and I don't think it'll save them in 2012 either. Republicans need a late comer to take the primaries after the media destroys every other candidate.
Hey, roadie!
Could you start doing the stock market report again?
I'm surprised you didn't come in to crow about the good news!

Republicans need a late comer to take the primaries after the media destroys every other candidate.

So... Basically you're hoping that the GOP can sneak in another idiot like Bush II or Palin before anyone can pay attention to how unqualified they are?
Oh_Please...... If the media was really doing their job, they would have been all over Obama just like they were all over Palin. I say if you want to dig into the politicians lives..... FINE! However, do it to all the politicians running not just the ones you don't like. The media went crazy over obama because he was the first black president. I think it would have been nice to have the first black president be a good person and not a radical socialist who goes around apologizing for America and siding with our enemies. Palin will make a great leader in 2012. Go Sarah Palin!
Ummmmm...
Pallin' around with terrorists.

Give me a break, jmailman.
But we are in agreement on this: PALIN 2012!!!!!
And don't forget:
HE'S A SEEKRIT MUSLIN!!!
Oh_please
My wife and I are happy that you support Sarah Palin 2012 vs obama
I don't think Sarah stands a chance at being elected in 2012.
That being said, I fear we have Obama, until January 20, 2017.
"Hope" I'm wrong about Obama, and we get "Change" in 2012.
"Change we can believe in".
HOPEfully we can set aside term limits on the Presidency and have Obama for 4 terms just like FDR!
justasking
My wife and I says that's why we need more than ever, Sarah Palin 2012
200!!!!
The_Alaska_Curmudgeon
My wife and I differ,We were 200!!!
My wife and I suspect that Mr-One-Time and his wife are also JMailman1999 and HIS wife. Accordingly, my wife and I believe that Jmailman1999 and Mr-one-time ARE their wives and them, or, in other words, are living as a happily married couple in one of the few states that my wife and I know of that allows same-sex marriage.
Are my wife and I on track?
My wife and I further believe that this pointless thread should be locked up and placed in a box, which should then be buried underneath a live oak for 200 years. After which, the box should be dug up, attached to a rocket and shot into the Sun. Seven billion years from now, future humans will recover the disparate atoms of the box and it's contents, reconstitute them into their pointless selves, animate them using advanced alien-robotic cloning technology, and imbue them with the mind and spirit of Sarah Palin; and send her back in time 7,000,000,0197 years, where she will become our next President.
Henry
My wife and I dream that Sarah Palin will be a shinning star coming from the spirit of God to save the planet of earth.
OP, I was too busy working for the man to comment on the market till now. The stock markets eclipse of 10,000 proves that Bush's recession is now over and Obama ended it. Without the stimulus package it is entirely possible that the world would have ended. Thanks to the trillion dollars of spending money that Obama gave us the economy is back on track. Simply put, people are spending again. I am sure that the market will continue to climb as more and more people realize this. And as Obama eliminates more wasteful military spending and Bush's good old boy corporate welfare programs things will only improve.
The Repukicans must be hating life today considering this glaring evidence of Obama's economic brilliance.
I am just so glad Bush is gone. Roadtrip you are right, Praise Obama!!
i must have stumbled into bizarro world. better re-boot and try this again.
it didn't work. if you can hear me out there, do not drink the kool-aid. i know it is tempting to lose yourself in the light of the annointed one, but you must resist. henry, roadtrip and yukon john turn back towards the light. i implore you.
The Repukicans must be hating life today considering this glaring evidence of Obama's economic brilliance.

Sarah Palin 2012

Sarah Palin 2012
Just so there is no doubt....if I were dying and supporting Sarah Palin would save my life....I would just have to die.
Here's a different chart showing the recovery:
http://www.google.com/publicdata?ds=usun...
Good times...
mr one time:
The Nazi's are watching you.
hilbilly
My wife and I have been told that.
The country will be so tired of all of the strife and bitterness by 2012, and in such financial straights with all of the proposed new health and energy follies foisted upon us, that it wont matter hardly at all who the GOP puts up. If the Democrats pass some version of Obamacare created in a back room political maneuver, against the wishes of the majority of Americans there will be a backlash for the ages. The loss of jobs resulting from Obama policies will increase the already historically high unemployment rate. Throw in Cap and Trade to create more lost jobs.
As for BHO's foreign policy, what is it? I have no idea, except that he seems to like to befriend despots.
Republicans can screw things up so bad that the Democrats sweep to victory, as they recently did. Then the country remembers why Democrats should never be in charge of anything larger than a rock concert, and puts Republicans back in.
I don't look for Palin to emerge. Contrary to some wishes, she is not Reagan in a skirt. More like a conservative Nancy Pelosi. I mean that in a negative way.
It's a couple of years down the line, and lots can change. It might be somebody that we hardly know now. That young fellow down in Florida is drawing interest.
Marco Rubio.
If I were sentenced to die by ungabunga and Palin offered to pardon me I would take the ungabunga.
The only light I need comes from solar power.
OP, right now the conservatives do bite and thanks to Obama they know it. They are probably scratching their heads trying to figure out how to mess up the economy just to make our president look bad. Do they care if millions of single mothers lose their jobs? No. As long as they make him look bad they don't care who gets hurt.
Curmudgeon-
Is it true that you went to school with Mark Twain?
mr_one_time-
My regards to you and the Mrs.
roadtrip-
Come back!
i feel that i have attained a B.A. in B.S. trying to follow this thread.
I just hope Dems are going to hurry up and pass everything Obama promised us. Tired of waiting. Why all the wait? Are they scared that if Republicans don't agree with them they might have to take all the blame? Are they scared of being voted out in 2010 or 2012? Are they scared that Obama's policies are bad? Come on Dems your in power. Quit waiting on Republicans to agree with you. Republicans had their chance the last 8 years. It's your turn. Let's see what you got.
kwigster05,
it's people who share your attitude that are taking this country nowhere. you wish failure on one political party, and you discourage bipartisan work because you want to see that party fail. do us all a favor and rethink yourself. that kind of immature attitude is not going to help this country get turned around.
President
My wife and I voted for Ron Paul.
majast, can you say the same about liberals for the past 8 years who had the same attitude toward republicans? or you just started saying this so called mature attitude now that dems are in power? your just one of those liberals who are asking republicans to just drop what they stand for and agree with the dems. dems are in total control, and this is their chance. also, after your lecture, i can't believe your comments on poor sarah. such hatred. hypocritical.
justasking: "Hopefully we can set aside term limits and have Obama for four terms like FDR".
Hopefully the American people wil treat Obama like they did Carter in 1980.
Nixon has a better chance at the presidency than Sarah Palin does.
Maybe this is why McCain lost the election. Instead of saying the truth "Palin is the farthest fringe moron our party has" he throws some unenthusiastic "Palin is a force"
kwigster05,
as far as i know, the dems weren't hoping for this country to fail for the past 8 years. they knew things were going to go bad, but i don't think anyone came out and said, "i hope our country goes to hell in a handbasket for my selfish political gain." don't use the (wrongly) assumed attitudes of others in the past to justify your immature attitude today.
also, i never asked republican politicians to drop what they believe. i just suggested obtaining bipartisan support on issues is a good thing, and you're fairly naive to think otherwise.
also, i never wished failure on sarah. if you can actually find evidence of me doing so, feel free to share it. i did say i thought she was a buffoon who has no place in political office. that's different.
Mr_one_time - Not sure what the "wife" is doing today but if I were her I would be making a appt. for a mental health evaluation.
AK1958 AND obama
My wife works in mental health, when would you like to take a mental evaluation? it's long overdue.
majast, i've looked at your comments all the way back to last year. so obvious. such hatred. hypocrtical
kwigster05,
again, any proof? i thought not. i guess that's not your strength.
majast, easy as 1,2,3. go to your profile, view your comments, and read every comment you made about sarah and republicans all the way back to last year. after your lecture about my attitude, there isn't one comment in your comments dating all the back to july '08 that matches your lecture. hypocrite. any proof? look at it yourself. calling sarah biggest whiner, biggest phony, even using the word bi*** in there about republicans, calling them nuts. do a little research on yourself on those things you've said about republicans and sarah. after your lecture, you sure are a hypocrite.
Kwigster05
My wife and I fact check what MAJAST posting about Sarah Palin, you're right! Maybe he's repenting and asking for forgiveness.
hOPM -- "So... Basically you're hoping that the GOP can sneak in another idiot like Bush II or Palin before anyone can pay attention to how unqualified they are?"
Why not, Yolanda. The donks did this with Obama. He never even made a payroll before being elected CEO of the largest economy in the world. That should be very sobering to you.
He never even made a payroll before being elected CEO of the largest economy in the world.
------------------------
And Duhbya did, Junior. That fact sure hasn't seemed to sober YOU up... What's your point?
Remember how exciting it was going to be to have our first MBA president EVAR?? Welp, Duhbya sure as hell ran the government like a business, didn't he? A crappy, crony-filled one.
How'd that work out for you, Junior? Oh, wait! I forgot. You're the world's last Bush administration apologist. :))
Businesses and governments are not run under the same economic premises, and to a large degree they shouldn't be. See: public goods and market failures. Maybe you should have paid more attention in your economics classes.
kwigster05,
where did i say i wanted her or the republican party or the country under the control of the republican party to fail? nowhere. i said sarah is whiney, and a phoney, but never did i wish failure of the state under her power. again, facts aren't your strength. neither is reading comprehension i guess.
majast, my attitude is your attitude. at least i admit it, while your want others to know that your a mature liberal with your lecture. sarah was the governor, and you deliberately said crap about her. where was the bipartisanship there? so much for your bipartisanship approach in your lecture. i guess remembering what you said isn't your weakness, as you tend to break the rules of your own lecture. it's ok for dems to trash sarah here in alaska, while it's not ok for republicans to trash obama. sorry can't have it both ways.
Is there a Republican party really? I didn't think there still was a Republican party?
Bush worked hard at ruining this country for six years. Even when the Dems took congress in 07 their best efforts could not immediately undo the damage that Bush had already done. Just look at the DOW and the unemployment graphs from back then and you will see what I mean. You will see that as us dems took control and our policies began to take effect things turned around. We are now looking at an economic recovery that will make the late 80's and 90's look like a job at Walmart.
roadtrip, i agree. and that accomplishment from obama will result in 16 trillion dollar debt by the end of his first term, and then if elected again way more than 20 trillion.
The GOP has no leadership and McCain is trying to be a gentlemen, their downfall will be trying to figure out what to do with Palin and let her down gently, they know she'll go kicking and screaming and that's not what they want. Palin's in her own world - not ours...nor the GOP...just Sarah's world.
kwigster05,
debating with you is like debating with a 5-year old: you only hear what you want to hear.
LOL!! you actually call this a debate?
http://www.theonion.com/content/amvo/rep...
The right wingers are funny.
Yesterday it was announced Palin's book will sell at Walmart for $9. and everyone thought she was making like $25. per book.....with publishing she'll probably make $2-3 per copy......Todd must be out job hunting.
hOPm -- "Oh, wait! I forgot. You're the world's last Bush administration apologist. :))"
I haven't apologized for the Bush Administration in any sense of the word. You are making that up. You should be very concerned about your inability to sort fact from fiction.
I have, however, defended those things that Bush got right. Like the principle that freedom is a birthright and not a government grant.
I will credit the biggest thing that Obama gets right. When he told our youth that "dropping out of school is no longer acceptable", I cheered for him. I still do. He's frighteningly weak on foreign policy and instinctively fascist on our economy, therefore, if he's going to break our country's bank, I think that he should break it on inspiring young adults with education. Can we agree on that?
Here's something I don't get about your emoticon -- ":))" Is that you smirking with a double-chin?

Prospector, you are kidding, right?? No one in America was more surprised than I when Geo. Bush did not stop the election in 08. I felt sure he was going to say, "Well, the situation is just too serious, and no one else understands it like I do, therefore, I am suspending elections for the indefinate future." Thankfully he did not. He was the single worst danger to our freedoms that our Nation has ever seen. (Short of now, with President Obama) The Patriot Act is by far and away the biggest loss of our freedoms that has occurred in at least 60 years, and at least then, we were in a world war.

"My wife and I chuckle, since the book is on sale for $9 bucks,You and others will be the first to purchase her book since you love her so."
My wife, but not I, is looking forward to seeing more of Levi.
TAC, too funny!! He is going to come out of this looking the best of anyone!! I wonder if her book is going to sell for 9 bucks? That is 9 more than I would ever pay, but it doesn't seem like alot. She had better not quit her "day job".....or wait, she already did that. She had better get with Levi and see if she can get a spot in Playboy or Hustler quickly, while she still has her looks.
Yukonjohn
My wife and I says she's way above that kind of dirt
shame on you!
YukonJohn -- "No one in America was more surprised than I when Geo. Bush did not stop the election in 08."
Why, you must feel like a real fool.
No Prospector, I do not. I was not sure if Geo Bush was smart enough, or maybe too much of a meglamaniac, that he might suspend elections. He has something that is "amiss" in his brain, and it scared myself and many others. I am just glad he allowed the Constitutional process to go forward, just not real happy with the result. I was hoping that the Republicans would see the light and have Ron Paul as their standard bearer. They are the ones that must now feel a little embarrassed, seeing how everything he has predicted has happened/is happening.
Oh, and Mr and Mrs one time, I would pay good money to see her do porno. I have never said she was not hot, just not very bright.
Mr_One_Time - no Palin fan, detest the woman, never have voted her in for anything and dang proud to admit it. I wouldn't give her 9 cents much less $9 for her supposed "book", have no intention of reading anything she has someone write or listen to her speak, she's worthless to me.
Yukonjohn
I had Conservatives swearing on their mother’s graves that Bill Clinton would suspend the elections towards the end of his last term. He didn’t (as Bush didn’t ), a reason why could be maybe power that be, knew GW Bush wasn’t too far from the acceptable norm. This is probably the same reason Sarah was chosen. They all have to meet certain criteria, if these are met they could really careless if the person is completely insane.

"My wife and I think after reading all your posting of Sarah Palin you must be really infatuated with her and your not fooling anybody you will be one of the first to read her book."
Some worship Godbama, and some pray to Palin. And then there is the small group that kneels before Pope Ron Paul. My primary interest in Palin is her affect, positive and negative, on the tightly wound. Ron Paul is a joke in that his followers have no plan or even hope of forwarding his philosophy. Of Course Obama has created a make believe world for his followers to dwell.
I try to live in the real world. You know, the one that is ruled by physics and math. And to me it doesn't mater which party bacrupts the country. Broke is broke.
Does anyone really care what McCain thinks about Palin's chances of winning another election. He obviously wasn't right about his chances of winning the last one.
roadtrip
My wife is right,It's time for you to get off that bad road your on and get back to the real world. Ron Paul and Sarah Palin could pave a new road to recovery for this country. Obama will show his colors in 2012 in the dark.
My wife says that if you must read Palin's book, you can check it out from the library for free.
My wife's husband says that this particular Palin article has run its course and we need a new one now.
Yukonjohn -- "He has something that is "amiss" in his brain, and it scared myself and many others."
That's known as projection. Your worst fears were simply your own.
Ron Paul is the only member of the Congress who voted "No" to re-authorize the Civil Rights Act. That probably forever disqualifies him from being taken seriously as a national candidate. Besides, he is not a republican, he's a libertarian. He should run on his own ticket, not another's. I find him as dishonest and flaky as Cynthia McKinney, especially regarding earmarks to his own district. Well, at least she put her own life at risk when delivering supplies to Hamas. BTW, he used a made-up quote when he attacked Huckabee during the campaign. He should have corrected this because he wrongfully slammed religious, patriotic Americans. The correct quote is "When fascism comes to America, it will be called anti-fascism." Maybe he is smart enough to know that he could throw out a mis-quote and his sycophants would eat it up without looking to see on what they're supping.
If we're going to go with smart sounding whack-jobs, let's go with one that has real character -- that can only be Alan Keyes.
My wife and I say Ron Paul and Allen Keys along with Sarah Palin are great Americans that are well qualified to become a U.S.President.

Alan Keyes 2012 !
I understand that there still may be a hazard being labelled a racist by not supporting Barack, but Alan will accept me for who I am.
I Hope that Mr. One-time posts for the last time on this subject!
