Race veteran Brent Sass of Fairbanks, Alaska, thanks his lead dog Silver Tuesday night, Feb. 24, 2009 at the finish line in Fairbanks during the 2009 Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. Sass's team struggled after leaving the Twin Bears checkpoint just 45 miles from the finish, dropping him from fourth to seventh place by the end.
