Amber Vaska, left, is congratulated by her mother Cheryl Peltola-Vaska after winning the women's Kneel Jump event during the World Eskimo Indian Olympics Tuesday, July 16, 2008 at the Carlson Center. Vaska, 19, originally from Aniak in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta who now attends the University of Alaska Fairbanks, leapt 48 1/2-inches on her final attempt to seal the win.
