Michael Farrell
Michael Farrell, 19, was born and raised in Fairbanks. During his high school years, he became interested in journalism and signed up for every journalism class available. As a senior at Lathrop High School, he became the editor-in-chief of the "Paystreak." Late in the second semester, Michael was hired by the Fairbanks Daily-News Miner as an intern-reporter. He continues to follow his journalistic passion at the News-Miner while studying his other passion, languages, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Michael hopes to study abroad in Heidelberg, Germany, and one day become a translator, possibly combining his skills by working as a foreign correspondent. Michael lives at home with his parents and dog, Buddy.
