Sleeping through the hearings

Published Tuesday, June 10, 2008

The youngest person keeping track of the TransCanada hearings is probably Trig Paxson Van Palin, who showed up for a bit this morning with his dad Todd and his mom Sarah, the governor. Trig seems to have slept through most of the testimony, which I admit was fairly dry.

Rep. Mary Nelson’s newborn, Nora Shine (Ikamtuk) Nelson, made an appearance last week, but she’s already two and a half months old. (Trig is only about one and a half.)

Gov. Palin herself has been in and out a few times in the last few days. She sits in the back and hasn’t participated yet.

The gov’s Web site for Trig is worth checking out if you haven’t seen it.

It’s basically a list of messages the family has received.

“Congratulations.”

“Remember he is still a miracle from heaven, none of us are ‘perfect.’” Debra, Chugiak

“You are a terrific example of motherhood. . . . Your son Trig is indeed lucky to have you for a mom.” Sharon, Florida

“Believe me -- get ready to smile and laugh like you never have before.” Brad and Heidi, Georgia

“God bless you.” William, New York
