Recently spotted in the Capitol halls:
Campaign buttons urging Ted4GOV 2010.
After the U.S. Justice Department said it will ask a judge to dismiss charges - and an October conviction - against former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens this week, some Republicans in Juneau are clamoring for a new senatorial election, or at least a clear path for Stevens to re-enter Alaska politics.
Rep. Jay Ramras, R-Fairbanks, was one of the first seen sporting the buttons on his lapel.
A source in a legislative office offered this summation in response to inquiries about the button's origins:
"The buttons are a tongue-in-cheek response to a recent turn of events."
No word yet on how the current occupant of the office may feel about the idea, the source acknowledged.
