Dalai Lama rep to address lawmakers

The Dalai Lama's representative to the U.S. and Canada will address legislators at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in the House Finance Committee room.

Mr. Lobsang Nydandak will speak, with Rep. Jay Ramras moderating.

Ramras, R-Fairbanks, chairs the Economic Development,Trade and Tourism Committee which, with the Senate World Trade, Technology and Innovations Committee, is sponsoring the event.

Nyandak is the highest-ranking Tibetan official in North America. He will discuss international trade with China and ways to encourage trade while protecting human rights, according to a notation on the legislative calendar.
