Wednesday dinner and auction to benefit victim of violent attack

Published Tuesday, February 10, 2009

A spaghetti feed and auction planned Wednesday at West Valley High School is aimed at helping Skyler Twitchell on the road to recovery.

Skyler, 22, was the victim of a shooting attack in Fairbanks in late December.

He is now at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle undergoing intensive rehabilitation.

He was shot in the neck, a wound that cause serious internal injuries and left him without the use of his arms or legs.

The dinner is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the school. The cost is $10 per person or $25 per family.

Among the items at the auction, will be a ton of dog food – literally.

Donna Gates and Jeff King of Denali Park donated 2,000 pounds of Pedigree Complete Adult Nutrition Dog Food in 52-pound bags.

There are also items such as an overnight stay at the Riverbend B&B and gift certificates for the Denali Doghouse, The Great Alaska Fish & Chip Co. and The Creekside Cafe.
