Renewable resource grants would boost wind farms, other local projects

The first proposed grants from a $100 million state renewable energy fund would boost wind farm efforts in Healy and Delta, as well as other local projects.
The state released a list of 77 projects covering all regions of Alaska Friday for consideration by a legislative committee.
Projects for the Fairbanks area getting some support from the Alaska Energy Authority would include:
•Eva Creek Wind Farm construction, GVEA
•North Pole Biomass Electricity/Heat construction, Chena Power Uitlity
•North Pole Heat Recovery construction, GVEA
•Delta Junction Wind Farm construction, Alaska Environmental Power
•Delta area, Coal Mine Road Wind Farm final design, Alaska Wind Power
•Delta Junction Wood Chip Heating, Delta/Greely School District
•Nenana Hydrokinetic Construction, UAF.
