Nenana plans sale for Mayrand memorial

Published Thursday, July 23, 2009

The community of Nenana is having a rummage sale Saturday from noon to 7 p.m. at the Nenana Civic Center to raise money for the Joshua Taylor Mayrand Memorial Fund.

There will be hot dogs and balloons for sale as well as a car wash from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All proceeds are to go toward the Joshua Taylor Mayrand Memorial Fund for projects that Josh thought were important to the students and community of Nenana.

One of those projects is to build a soccer field in Nenana.

Josh, the son of Nenana Mayor Jason Mayrand and his wife Teresa, was killed in a snowmachine accident in Nenana last October

The organizers say donations would be greatly appreciated. If you need help getting items to the sale, contact Rhonda at 378-2645, Sally at 832-5567 , or Jo Ann at 460-5401.
