Anchorage Gottschalks on list for purchase

The Gottschalks' store in Anchorage is one of 16 that a company called "Forever 21" wants to take over.
The Fairbanks store is not on the list of 16 stores in California, Washington and Alaska.
"Gottschalks supports the $17.7 million bid, which would enable Forever 21 to buy three properties -- in Hanford, San Luis Obispo and Yuba City -- and take over 13 rental locations," the Fresno Bee reported Friday.
And this means what to us here in Fairbanks????

What it means is there is not a high enough percentage of fools in Fairbanks for a store that markets overpriced products to make a go of it! Good luck in Anchorage!

Forever 21 sounds like a store trying to compete with the Fountain Of Youth! LOL!
If you have a teenage daughter...they are familiar with this store...they have an aggressive mail-order market for Alaska...and a physical presence in Anchorage will certainly help. Just another reason to take your teen to Anchorage for shopping.
Can we leave these teens in Anchorage too??

Kohl's has actually been quietly looking at another building in town
forever21 is a store that sells only girls clothes. don't ever go shopping there with a female, trust me. i'm glad it's not happening in fairbanks.
