Fairbanks Beer Blog debuts
Published Monday, April 6, 2009
Welcome beer snobs. Yes, it seems only right to get the new blog, the Fairbanks Beer Blog, off on the right foot by making it clear who we really are--lovers of fine brew with strong opinions to back those beliefs up. We know what we like, know what we don't like, and if we beer lovers don't like it, well, why should you? But this blog isn't designed to be a hostile place, and unfriendly environment. This is about beer right? And beer's a good thing, a great thing, so let's celebrate that aspect. The Fairbanks Beer Blog is a place for discussion about beer. A place to tell the world what you like, and why you like it. In fact, anything about beer goes. Did you just make the world's finest homebrew? What's the secret to your success? Just discover a beer so good you want to cry? Cry about it here so others can partake. This blog will also be a more regular extension of the Fairbanks Daily Newsminer's newest Food-section column: Beer Here. As I uncover new beers, I'll offer a review, which i welcome all to comment on. I will also share information about homebrew events (please let me know if you're having one: gburnsilver@newsminer.com), beer tastings and other related events. I am always open to suggestions as well. Cheers, Glenn BurnSIlver Beer Editor and Features Writer

Beer is good for you, beer is good for you!!!!! I like beer. GUINNESS IS KING!!!!!
Widmer Hefewizen Is an outstanding beer as well.
Regarding the recent article on strong Belgian ales: Gold Hill Liquor has some Brewferm kits that produce outstanding beer. I have made the Diabolo, the Gold and the Adij and all are excellent. The Abdij is a dark abbey style beer; the Gold is fairly light, and the Diabolo is a nice copper colored ale. If you don't start out sitting down, you will be soon. I added extra malt and made them quite strong.

I'm accused of being a beer sott but I only drink a six pack or two of Miller or Bud Lite per year. Must be that taters and gravy belly I carry around. Oh how easy a cold one goes down after mowing the lawn in the Arkansas heat in the summertime. I'm sure Olypopper helps the economy a little in Fairbanks with his thirst.
Hello From Sweden!
Fun to read on this blogg.Är many who brews his own beer in Fairbanks these days? Know that I asked when I was there, but it has become popular recently. I have brewed beer since -70's home in Sweden. Then a question .... is the pump house well?
I was there and took a few beers for some years ago:)
