Blog: Offbeat Fairbanks
The calendar may say it's April and the height of sun declares it to be spring, but it's still winter in Fairbanks. It was 5 below at my house this morning and the snow is still thigh-deep in the back yard. I just wish local retailers would keep that in mind when they swap out their merchandise.
My child has worn a hole in her mittens, so I stopped at the store to get a new pair. Lots of bright spring clothing and rainboots on display, but not a mitten in sight. It's frustrating.
