These lists (this is from the Facebook group of the same name) always make me laugh, because no one outside Fairbanks understands Fairbanks until they've lived here.
– You know that the outhouses with the blue foam are the nice ones!
– You think driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow.
– You know the term "studs" isn't referring to hot guys.
– You see people wearing Carhartts clothes at social events.
– You give up and tell people in the lower 48 that you DO live in an igloo and you DO have a pet polar bear named Mishka when they refuse to believe otherwise.

on another note would like to add how convienant it is that everyone in all the united states has forgotten that obama
isn't just an african american ; but he just happens to be half white because his mother is a white woman .
it's time the whole united states grew up and stopped racisim and predudiceness- we are all God's children
no matter what color we are. i grew up in fairbanks and it was multiculturial - whites; blacks; mexican; indian; eskimo; chinese ; japanese; asain; tai; russin; german; etc.

you grow up if you look at the black blogs the obamanation is their messiah a blackman sent from god and he denoucened his white heritege in his book their was at least 4 racist remarks in his address and he don't hire whites smarten up
When I want to wind up people in the Lower 48, I tell them ....
I had a pet moose I would ride to school when my dog team wouldn't start.
My dog team wouldn't start half the time because they were jealous of my moose.
I miss hunting for whales in the Yukon in my canoe.
